Roman Sharf
Roman and his head of marketing came to me when their YouTube channel had recently launched.
Unlike many of the people who approach me, they were incredibly prepared. They had a vision of how they were going to execute this channel and at this point, they had already uploaded 20 episodes but they realized there was a limit to what they could achieve alone.
Contract Start Date: May 4, 2018
Contract End Date: July 22, 2021
Roman Sharf is the owner of Luxury Bazaar, an ecommerce luxury jewelry website.
While they sell an array of luxury goods one could adorn themselves with, he's built his reputation around his vast knowledge of luxury watches. The various brands featured in his videos include Rolex, Audemars Piguet, Richard Mille, Patek Phillipe, Hublot, Panerai, Cartier, Romain Jerome, Greubel Forsey, Piaget, Chopard, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Glashütte, Blancpain, and countless others. With 20+ years in the industry, he’s become one of the top luxury watch experts and trend-setters in the industry. His business runs like a well-oiled machine, and as a result of his work and our grand team effort, so does his channel.
“We love Adrianna. She's an incredible partner whose YouTube expertise, branding input and content strategy directly impacts success. Whether she's growing our subscribers or assisting with things like SEO, visual quality and concepts for our content, Ada has been an organic growth game changer. Most recently, with her YouTube guru level insights, sales from YouTube traffic alone has earned us close to 100K/month. We've been with her for over two years. She's a great team player and a proven asset.” —Roman Sharf
When I first started working for Roman in May of 2018, his YouTube channel had approximately 781 subscribers.
By the end of his first year on YouTube, he had 3,457 subscribers. To many, this may not sound like a whole lot but those first 3,000 were paramount because this audience was foundational. In 15 months, we took him to 10,000 and the rate of his audience growth only continued to increase. 10,000 subscribers was a huge milestone, as that’s when more monetization features through the YouTube Partner Program become available to creators. (That is, until YouTube changed their program requirements in 2023)
What many people fail to realize is that YouTube is a long-term game.
That’s one of the things that makes the social platform so challenging to leverage successfully, and it’s also the reason why so many people fail on YouTube, and why some channels are simply abandoned entirely. Not everyone can sustain making content, week in, and week out but Roman understood this and the perseverance it required, and as a result of his great effort (undoubtedly, with some help from his military background) his discipline and commitment proved to be an asset.
Growth on YouTube can be very slow (at first) but if you’re consistent and apply the right principles, your growth on the platform can compound prodigiously, and that’s exactly what happened for Roman Sharf.
As of July 2020, he had hit 30,000 subscribers. At the completion of our three years working together, we said goodbye at a 50,000 subscriber count. Roman and his team wanted to take the channel in another direction and he realized, like many clients eventually do, that he didn’t need my help anymore.
Since the end of our partnership in July 2021, he’s amassed over 400,000 subscribers! That’s why those first 3,000 are so significant because those first 3,000 can get you to 10,000 and that 10,000, if nurtured correctly, can certainly get you to 50,000. If you can reach 50,000, and never deviate from the tactics you’ve been applying, I truly believe and have see first-hand that, “the sky’s the limit.”
While I was saddened that our outstanding partnership had come to an end, I was tremendously grateful for being able to work with him. It’s undeniably been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career as a YouTube consultant and has shown me just how far I could take someone.
Out of all the people I've worked with, I have to say that Roman has been the most inspirational because he is consistent, patient, positive and always puts in the work.
